Dr. JB Lombaard

Dr JB Lombaard is a family physician with advanced training in minor surgical procedures and a specialised focus on microsurgical vasectomy reversals. Originally from South Africa, he began his career in rural hospital medicine before relocating to Canada in 2013.

Following his initial No-Scalpel Vasectomy training with world-renowned expert Dr Doug Stein in 2016, Dr Lombaard further refined his skills through advanced microsurgery training at Columbia University’s Microsurgery Lab in New York. This training has allowed him to pivot the primary focus of his practice to microsurgical vasectomy reversals.

Today, Dr Lombaard operates one of the most active reversal programs in the country, performing up to 10 vasectomy reversals every month. This high volume ensures the technical precision and surgical consistency required for optimal patient outcomes.

While he continues to maintain his vasectomy practice in Edmonton and a specialised minor surgical clinic at Ross Medical in Red Deer, he is most dedicated to helping men make informed decisions about their reproductive health through precise, patient-centred microsurgery.

Dr. Phil Vogel

CCFP, MBChB

I completed my medical training in South Africa. The “pre-kid” wanderlust took me and my wife Liezil, to Lincoln, England, where I worked as a medical officer. We managed to see a lot of Europe during this time, and we developed a keen interest in travel. On returning to South Africa, I worked as a family physician in a small, picturesque town of Parys, and used this time to start my family. Me, Liezil, and our two daughters Rachelle and Mignioné immigrated to Stettler, Canada in 2002, where we still reside.

My interests also include obstetrics, and I have been performing cesarean sections for more than 20 years. Sprouting out of this, I also perform newborn circumcisions. I absolutely love to be part of the care to young families and decided to take the fertility process full circle. I decided to perform training under Dr. Doug Stein, a world renowned vasectomist in my quest to expand medical services in Stettler.

I am striving to provide the most comfortable care “down-there”!

Dr. Bryan Frobb

MD CCFP, BSc. (Hons)

Dr. Frobb was born and raised in Alberta. He completed his MD at the University of Alberta in 2016 and completed his residency training in family medicine in 2018. He trained in the no-scalpel vasectomy technique under several experienced mentor physicians during this time and it has been a regular part of his practice since 2021. In addition to performing vasectomies and minor procedures, Dr. Frobb practices full-scope rural medicine in Drayton Valley, providing care in clinic, ER, and on the ward.

Outside of medicine he has a passion for travel that is eclipsed only by his love for his growing family and his bottle cap collection.
